Telvent has announced that has been selected to provide automated systems of weather observation (AWOS) to Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD), the National Service of Meteorology of the Federal Republic of Germany.
DWD will depend on the technology of Telvent to manage fundamental weather data for the operations of flight in 16 international airports German. The solutions of Telvent will help DWD to anticipate and to control the effects of adverse the meteorological conditionses with the purpose of maintaining the security and maximizing the efficiency. Between the airports that benefit from this technology they include: Frankfurt, Hamburg, Bremen, Hanover, Leipzig, Berlin-Schonefeld, Munich, Nuremburg, Dresden, Erfurt, Egelsbach, Saarbrucken, Stuttgart, Cologne-Bonn, Dusseldorf and Munster-Osnabruck. The project also includes a contract of maintenance and support in the long term.
The delegated advisor of Telvent, Ignacio González-Domínguez, assures that this awarding shows the DWD confidence in the company “to offer a complete system of management of aerial meteorology”. According to the director, “our meteorological technology outpost, leader in the sector, will help DWD to guarantee safe operations of flight in the airports German”.
At the moment, airports worldwide, as much civil as the military, use the technology of Telvent to receive and to distribute exact and trustworthy weather data.
