Responsibilities

RealTime Platform Integration (RPI) is a multi-disciplinary team of professionals dedicated to ensuring a stable, high performance technology platform for our customer's installations of Telvent's SCADA products. The team is formed of a group of specialists in a variety of technology fields and customer-focused Systems Integrators. The Intermediate/Senior Systems Integrator provides end-to-end platform services for Telvent projects, maintaining customer relationships and ensuring the smooth integration of our products into our customer's environments. Is also responsible for the majority of hardware supply, implementation and support in addition to the installation, configuration and integration of platform components required for customer projects.

Specific duties include:

  • Defining Hardware and Software requirements/architecture for customer projects.
  • Installing and configuring the following:
    • Server, workstation and network hardware;
    • Operating systems: Windows Server 2000, 2003, 2008; XP; Windows 2000 Professional; Windows 7;
    • Active Directory, ADAM and Group Policies;
    • Network routers, switches and terminal servers;
    • Other applications as required: MS SQL; Excel; IT Health Monitor.
  • Ensuring OASyS server installations conform to both Telvent and client standards for quality, performance, security and operability.
  • Completion of configuration documentation.
  • Application of standard procedures and new approaches when required.
  • Working closely with other Telvent teams such as Sales, Research Technology and Development (RTD), Education Services, and Customer Service.
  • Support, coach, train, and mentor Systems Integrators in deployment issues throughout the project life cycle.
  • Travel Required.

Core Competencies

Technical

  • Working knowledge of:
    • Active Directory
    • Cisco and Nortel networking hardware;
    • Network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WINS;
    • Firewall configuration;
    • Remote access technologies;
    • VPN, tunneling;
    • Advanced network monitoring;
    • Switching and routing configuration; and
    • Network monitoring, management and troubleshooting tools and techniques.
  • Networking certification achieved or in progress (e.g., CCNA with Firewall or equivalent).
  • Experience with OASyS products highly desirable.
  • Experience with SCADA systems highly desirable.
  • Experience with Telecommunications is highly desirable
  • Experience with SAN solutions desirable.

Education

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent discipline, with 3+ years related experience or Technology Diploma with 6+ years related experience.
