Telvent to manage traffic for Fushun City in China

The project will help Fushun Authorities to improve traffic flow and build a more sustainable city.

June 7, 2010 – Telvent (NASDAQ: TLVT), the IT company for a sustainable and secure world, announced today that it will implement the Telvent SmartMobility^TM Road Suite on Fushun's Traffic Management Center. The project will expand and upgrade the existing traffic management center to become a global mobility management center, which will enable authorities to improve traffic flow and reduce air pollution.

Due to this project, the citizens of Fushun will enjoy shorter travel times throughout the city, as well as a reduction in delays and backups due to traffic congestion. Traffic flow within the city will be improved and traffic operators will benefit from being able to use installations that help to operate and manage urban mobility efficiently, reducing their citizen response time. Furthermore, all of these enhancements will reduce both the emission of contaminating agents and noise pollution, allowing Fushun to move forward in its efforts to create a sustainable city.

The suite to be installed by Telvent will centralize global management of traffic enforcement, communications and security systems, as well as the traffic guidance system. The solution will be running under a unique 3D geographical information system that will facilitate real-time information via Web for operators in charge of system management to adapt the transportation offering to network demands in real time, while improving safety and security at the same time.

Specifically, the following systems will be implemented and integrated on the control center: advanced traffic management system, red light and speed enforcement system, closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance, the supporting traffic facilities and services, communications network, etc.
