Job Description:

Telvent is seeking an Accountant to focus on core accounting processes, as well as reporting and inter-company accounting. This person will be a self-starter who possesses an attention to detail and solid communication abilities, and will have technology, organizational and analytical skills. They will work to ensure adherence to US GAAP as well as to the corporate standards and requirements. Typical duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Full charge bookkeeping responsibility
• Prepare and maintain monthly journal entries, and general ledger accounts.Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable, intercompany transactions and bill backs, accruals, etc.). Enters data into computer system using defined computer programs (SAP)
• Assist with month-end close, consolidation process, preparation of management reports and audit process
• Reconcile records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers (reconciliation of sub-ledgers to general ledger)
• Preparing financial statements and other financial reports
• Prepare monthly balance sheet schedulesand reconciliation

In this position, the ideal candidate will likely perform some or all of the following job responsibilities:

• Month-end closing
• Inter-company accounting
• Balance sheet analyses/reconciliation
• Division and department analysis
• Reporting with in house financial systems
• Government reporting, tax and other as needed

The successful candidate for this position will be one who is able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and one who can get the job done accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be willing to assist when and where they are needed.

Qualified candidates will have:

• 2- 3+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus but not required
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to details, highly organized, computer literate
• Ability to work well in fast-paced professional office environment
• Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus
• SAP experience is desired
