The position is responsible for the operation of the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Smart Traffic Center in Arlington, VA.The ideal candidate will have specialized experience and subject matter knowledge of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS):traffic systems control, incident management, automated communications networks and systems, and the techniques and strategies of traffic information management and dissemination.The individual should have good verbal and written communication skills, be able to work in a team environment, as well as the capability to make decisions in stressful situations.Flexibility is a must as overnight, weekend work and shift rotation is required.

Requirements:

High School graduate with some college preferred, 1-2 years general office experience is required. Must be able to pass a stringent background check, be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products and must be detail oriented and demonstrate good problem solving ability
