Telvent’s North American Electronic Toll Collections department is seeking a Systems Engineer who will be responsible for the design, development and integration of hardware and systems-level solutions for toll systems.The ideal candidate is able to work independently as well as in a small team.They are able and eager to learn new skills and technologies quickly, and should enjoy solving challenging problems.Candidates will be expected to coordinate with team members to define system objectives and prepare system designs to meet customer project requirements.

Responsibilities:

• System Testing
• Perform Site Surveys
• Develop Project Bill of Materials
• Evaluate new equipment
• Component testing
• Assist in installation
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors on delivery schedules for both availability and delivery
• Assist in design packages
• Assist in proposal response

Requirements:

• BA/BS degree in Information Technology or related field
• Understanding of RFID Technologies is a huge plus
• Previous experience with full life-cycle development, including system design, testing and requirements gathering
• Understanding of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process
• Engineering process oriented
• Experience developing designs for field infrastructure, including power and communications
• Excellent communications skills
• Strong analytical skills
