Releases Responder 9.0.2
Madrid, 10 June, 2005 - Telvent (NASDAQ TLVT), the Global
RealTime IT Company is pleased to announce the release of
Responder 9.0.2, a GIS-hosted Outage Management System (OMS),
with extended functionality for improved operations.
Responder, based on ESRI's ArcGIS, is an easily implemented
OMS developed to be scalable, extensible, and sustainable.
It allows utilities to rapidly respond to customers, efficiently
manage crews and incidents, and enhance customer service by
providing valuable and timely information based on both geographical
and tabular data for restoration during storms or daily operations.
Utilizing an OMS that leverages a GIS provides operational
staff the advantage of an exceptional user interface and removes
the significant challenges of data integrity and transformation
often associated with managing disparate systems.
As a result of user feedback, many product enhancements have
been included in the 9.0.2 release. The following are key
updates to the product: Switching Orders allow users to create,
manage and execute planned switching orders. Switching orders
include a series of steps for the operation of switchable
devices, placement of tags and grounds, and user-defined steps.
Tagging capability allows a user to place or remove tags at
device and fault locations. Tags are part of a switching order
or restoration plan and symbolized on the map. Grounds can
also be placed and removed on a conductor and are included
as part of a switching or restoration order. Incident Restoration
Management now leverages the switching order framework for
improved ease of use. Open Points (Cuts) can be placed on
conductors to create incidents (faults).
"The success of Responder can be directly attributed to the
close working relationship with our user community, the dedication
of our staff, and the power of ArcGIS," said Jeff Meyers,
president of Miner & Miner.
