Information Technologies are already very much present in the Health Sector. The need for improving health planning services and hospital resources, however, has made the integration of the new technologies a necessity for this sector.

Hospital Information Systems (HIS): a Medical-Administrative Information System focused on patient services and hospital resources, which allows the optimum management of services based on current demand, while providing readily accessible information to the decision makers in the organization.
GlobalRis: a solution for administrative, documentation, clinical and knowledge management, based on diagnosis processes utilizing images created through radiology and other specialties. This solution is comprised of the following components:
- Radiological Information System (RIS): allows for central management of the E/S of patients requests and data, examination planning and scheduling, generation of work lists, and statistics. It also allows for the efficient management of files and consumables, incorporating functions such as voice dictation.
- Picture Archive Communication System (PACS): a system of image management that incorporates reversible compression systems with no integrity loss, hierarchic organization and access to work lists, optimized data access time, and a high level of computer security (utilizing electronic signature technology).
Geographic Information Systems (GIS): Telvent has accumulated a vast amount of experience in the development and implementation of Geographic Information Systems that are specifically adapted to the health sector, which offer a comprehensive suite of applications such as the optimization of hospital planning (through town and country planning), determination of territorial pharmacy units , entities geo-reference (Health Centers, pharmacies, hospitals..) and the implementation of hospital surveillance systems (epidemic behavior, water quality, and hospital incidents control).
